2-Methyl-5-nitroaniline is used as a reagent in the synthesis of imatinib base derivatives which show antibacterial and antifungal activity. Also used as a reagent in the synthesis of pyrimidinylaminobenzene derivatives which exhibit antiproliferative activity against melanoma.
